Heathrow Terminal 4 Parking

Parking at London Heathrow just got more expensive!.

For the past two years there have been problems in accessing and using the short stay car park at Terminal 4 at peak times – ie when most flights are scheduled to land.  BAA and Apco Parking have obviously been working hard to resolve this layout / volume problem – their solution RAISE THE PARKING CHARGES at time of peak demand – unbelievable logoic!

One sincerely hopes this extra revenue will be invested in better facilities!!

Beware – New penalties for uninsured motor vehicles

Under Continuous Insurance Enforcement, when a registered keeper of a vehicle appears to be uninsured, the Motor Insurers’ Bureau sends them an advisory letter that sets out the steps they need to take to comply with the law. If the keeper fails to comply, their details are transferred to the DVLA for enforcement. This means if a vehicle does not have insurance and has not made a SORN, the registered keeper could face:

-A fixed penalty of £100.
-A court prosecution and if convicted they will face a fine of up to £1,000.
-The vehicle may also be clamped, seized and disposed of.

It doesn’t matter who is driving the car – if you’re the registered keeper, you could get penalised.

Parking at London Heathrow just got a whole lot more expensive.

With no announcement, charges at Terminal 5 high sided car park went up over 300% from 00:01 on 10th May 2013.  There is no mention of this change on their website either

No longer can is this car park charged in half hour segments– the minimum charge is for two hours and costs a whopping £9.20. This means if you stay 10 mins or 119 mins you have to pay the £9.20 – unless you are a valet
parking company of a BA Pilot!

Take care when using the Car Parks and read the small notices concealed at the entrance barriers – changes are apparently posted at these points on the day of change.
