Petrol and Diesel duty to rise by 3p per litre in January 2013

The Rt Hon George Osborne MP – The Chancellor – is planning a New Year’s gift to each and every one of us!

Before you reach for a drink to toast his health…… you should think again.

He plans a Petrol and Diesel duty to rise by 3p per litre in January 2013 – THAT’S 16p per Gallon

In a few days’ time in his autumn statement he will lay out his plan. The RAC and FairFuelUk have been lobbying for many months to get this rise scrapped. More details can be found here.

Both organisations met a group of influential MPs only last week and they believe that the results of such a poll could be critical in the run up to the Autumn Statement, even at this late stage.

Please help them by completing this short survey here.

Remember if fuel goes up – everything from bread and milk to public transport will rise.

UKBA Strike – 10th May 2012

Immigration staff are to stage a one-day strike on 10th May 2012 threatening huge disruption at port & airports across the UK including Heathrow.

In our recent experience – passengers are having to wait at immigration – non EU nationals for up to 3 hours from the time their plane lands!

It will be interesting to see if the managers and staff drafted in to provide cover can reduce the waiting – surely it cannot get much worse.  On the bright side – because cars are in the car parks for longer Apcoa parking should be making increased profits!!!!
