Olympic Planning Permission – at last!

Its been reported today that Weymouth and Portland councilors unanimously voted for fencing and other temporary structures to be allowed at Weymouth’s ticketed spectator site. (Porta Loos to me and you)

The decision by members of Weymouth and Portland Borough Council‘s planning and traffic committee means the London 2012 Organising Committee (LOCOG) will be able to accommodate 4,600 spectators a day during the Olympic period when sailing events are hosted in the borough.

A unanimous vote also granted LOCOG temporary use of the new Chesil Cove Federation Primary School and Zero C housing development at the former Officer’s Field site on Portland as an Olympic Village for athletes and officials

Call me syndical but one very important question springs to mind – tickets have been on sale for this venue since round one of the ballot – so was it not a forgone decision that LOCOG would do whatever they wanted?  If permission was turned down would refunds of been issued??
