French air traffic control strike

24th June – 29th June 2014

French air traffic controllers have voted to strike. There is potential for some disruption to flights crossing French airspace this week.

As usual with action of this type the effect will be random – and may effect any UK airport / flight.

As always we will monitor inbound flights – and adjust our collection time should your flight be delayed.  We would advise if you are departing to check the status of your flight with the airline.

Beware – New penalties for uninsured motor vehicles

Under Continuous Insurance Enforcement, when a registered keeper of a vehicle appears to be uninsured, the Motor Insurers’ Bureau sends them an advisory letter that sets out the steps they need to take to comply with the law. If the keeper fails to comply, their details are transferred to the DVLA for enforcement. This means if a vehicle does not have insurance and has not made a SORN, the registered keeper could face:

-A fixed penalty of £100.
-A court prosecution and if convicted they will face a fine of up to £1,000.
-The vehicle may also be clamped, seized and disposed of.

It doesn’t matter who is driving the car – if you’re the registered keeper, you could get penalised.
